Elon Musk, who has 14 children, commented on social media that low birth rates could lead to the downfall of civilization. He isn’t the only one concerned—recent reports say that the White House has been exploring different ideas to address the issue, including giving more opportunities like scholarships to people who are married or have children.
While some people think a cash bonus might help, others are skeptical or even uncomfortable with the idea. One person commented that if $5,000 is enough to convince someone to have a child, then maybe they shouldn’t be having one at all.
