Donald Trump tried to insult Joe Biden but fumbled his words – again

Donald Trump tried to make fun of Joe Biden during a speech at Fort Bragg, but it didn’t go as planned. The former president was speaking at an event celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, where he decided to take another jab at Biden, something he often does in his speeches.

While trying to insult Biden’s intelligence, Trump said, “I’ve known this guy for a long time. He was never the sharpest bulb.” The crowd listened as Trump made what seemed to be a mistake with his words. He likely meant to say “sharpest tool in the shed” or “brightest bulb in the box,” but ended up combining the two and saying something that didn’t quite make sense.

Despite the awkward slip-up, the 78-year-old continued his insult by saying that Biden was mentally sharp only “a very long time ago.” However, many people on social media noticed Trump’s error and found it ironic. They pointed out that he was trying to criticize Biden’s mental state while making a confusing statement himself.

People online didn’t hold back. One person joked, “When I shop for lightbulbs, I’m always looking for the sharpest ones.” Another commented, “This comes from the dimmest bulb in the U.S.” A third added, “Sharpest bulb? Trump’s brain is not well.”

Others joined in, making fun of Trump’s mixed-up metaphor. Someone said, “He wasn’t the brightest knife in the drawer either,” while another replied, “The. Sharpest. Bulb. Mixed metaphors. Wow.” One person even said they were looking forward to a book being written about Trump’s confusion and the people around him who supported it.

The moment quickly went viral, not just because of the joke Trump tried to make, but because his own mistake became the joke instead.
