Charlie Kirk’s Widow Erika Hails Him As A ‘Martyr’ In First Remarks Since His Death

Erika Kirk spoke publicly for the first time after her husband, Charlie Kirk, was killed while giving a speech at Utah Valley University. Fighting back tears, she addressed the man accused of taking his life, saying he had no idea what kind of force he had just set in motion across the country.

She began her remarks by expressing gratitude to the police, first responders, President Donald Trump, and Vice President JD Vance for their support. Looking directly into the camera, she added a personal note to Trump: “Mr. President, my husband loved you, and he knew that you loved him too.”

Charlie Kirk, only 31, was gunned down in front of a large audience on campus just two days earlier. Erika, 36, said she still cannot put into words the depth of her pain. “I will never have the words to describe the hole in my heart,” she admitted. “I don’t know why this happened, but I trust that God does.”

Earlier that same day, police confirmed they had arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who is now facing charges including aggravated murder, which could bring the death penalty. He is also accused of obstruction of justice and firing a weapon that caused serious injury.

Erika described her husband as a martyr and made it clear that his work and mission would not end with his death. “The people who carried out this evil act have no idea what they’ve unleashed,” she said. “If you thought my husband’s mission was powerful before, just wait.”

She also shared a heartbreaking moment at home. When her three-year-old daughter asked where her father was, she gently told her, “He’s on a work trip with Jesus.” Erika and Charlie, who married in 2021, also share a one-year-old son.

Before his death, Erika often appeared with her husband at public events. At a recent Turning Point USA conference, she encouraged women to pursue marriage and family life, echoing many of Charlie’s views. She said that if Charlie had ever chosen to run for political office, his top priority would have been strengthening American families.

Outside of her role as Charlie’s partner, Erika is a former Miss Arizona, hosts a Christian podcast called *Midweek Rise Up*, and runs a faith-based clothing line connected to her ministry, BIBLEin365.

Though devastated, she vowed that her husband’s work will continue. “I promise I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing this country has ever seen,” she declared, making it clear that his mission is now also hers.
