Former President Biden Couldn’t Even Get Through 15-Second Interview Without Stumbling

Americans haven’t seen much of former President Joe Biden since he dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, a move that eventually led to Vice President Kamala Harris losing the election to Donald Trump. That’s why his brief appearance on Sunday stood out so much. Biden showed up on the field at Lincoln Financial Field during the Philadelphia Eagles game against the Las Vegas Raiders, and the moment quickly drew attention.

During the game, Biden took part in a very short, casual interview. When asked to say “Go Birds,” he responded enthusiastically at first, cheering for the Eagles and saying they needed to win the Super Bowl again. Almost immediately after that, though, his speech became hard to follow. As the interviewer asked a simple follow-up question about how it felt to be there, Biden started speaking and then trailed off into words that didn’t clearly make sense. It was difficult to understand what he was trying to say before the clip ended.

For many viewers, the moment was uncomfortable and served as a reminder of the concerns people had during the 2024 election cycle. The interview lasted less than 15 seconds, yet Biden struggled to get through a short response without stumbling. To critics, this reinforced the belief that he was not capable of handling unscripted moments or speaking clearly for any length of time.

At the same time, some credit can be given for the fact that Biden, now 83 years old, was standing outside in cold Philadelphia weather and still engaging with the crowd. Even so, the appearance sparked jokes and criticism, with some people pointing out that public events like this likely take a lot out of him at his age.

More than anything, the clip reminded people of how Biden was handled toward the end of his political career. His appearances were often tightly controlled, kept brief, and focused on delivering a simple line before moving on. To critics, this wasn’t about leadership or ability anymore, but about trying to hold onto power for as long as possible. Eventually, even his own party couldn’t keep pushing that strategy, and it fell apart in public view.
