Donald Trump official declared most ‘pathetic’ of admin in scathing rebuke: ‘Humiliated herself’

Journalist Mehdi Hasan delivered a fierce criticism on Sunday aimed at Tulsi Gabbard, calling her the most “pathetic” and “shameless” official in the Trump administration. Hasan argued that Gabbard has repeatedly allowed herself to be embarrassed and sidelined by the very president she serves, Donald Trump.

Hasan pointed out that Gabbard, who was once a Democrat, now appears to be marginalized within the administration. According to reports, the White House often excludes her from key intelligence briefings, and Trump aides have jokingly referred to her as “Do Not Inform,” a mocking play on her role as Director of National Intelligence. To Hasan, this nickname reflects how little respect or trust she seems to command inside the administration.

He wrote that even when he strongly disagreed with Gabbard in the past, he could still respect her because she appeared to be guided by firm beliefs and a clear worldview. That, he said, is no longer the case. Instead, Hasan described her as someone who constantly shifts her positions and flatters Trump in hopes of staying in his good graces, abandoning any real sense of independence or professional integrity along the way.

Hasan highlighted several moments where Gabbard’s past statements directly clash with her more recent silence or reversals. She once publicly condemned those who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6, calling them criminals, yet said nothing when Trump later issued broad pardons to many of them. On Iran, she told Congress that the country was likely not building a nuclear weapon, only to later flip her position and claim Iran was just weeks away from having one.

He also pointed to her past opposition to U.S. military action in Venezuela. Despite that stance, she was reportedly on vacation in Hawaii when the Trump administration carried out an attack there, and she was said to have been excluded from the planning altogether. In the days that followed, she again remained silent.

To Hasan, what makes the situation especially striking is how quickly this has all unfolded. Less than a year into the administration, he wrote, Gabbard has already diminished her own credibility and allowed herself to be publicly undermined by Trump. Yet she continues to defend him, repeat his narratives, support his unfounded election claims, and attach the authority of her office to intelligence assessments that many view as questionable.

Hasan ended by asking a blunt and uncomfortable question: after all of this, does Tulsi Gabbard have any self-respect left at all?
