A man kept hearing a noise behind his wall, so he finally cut into the drywall, and what he pulled out was still alive

A video shared on TikTok and Instagram has attracted more than 10 million views after showing a tiny kitten being rescued from inside a wall. The unusual incident has left many people surprised and amused, with thousands of social media users joining the conversation about what they call the “cat distribution system”.

The video was shared by Destiny Poppell, a paralegal and pet owner, who recorded the moment her fiancé discovered that a kitten was trapped somewhere inside their wall.

According to Destiny, her fiancé had been hearing strange noises coming from inside the wall for some time. Rather than ignore the sounds, he decided to investigate and find out what was making the noise.

In the video, her fiancé can be seen getting down on his knees with several tools, including a hammer, a crowbar and box cutters. He carefully begins cutting into a small section of the wall, eventually creating a square opening.

After removing the piece of wall, he bends down and looks inside to see what could be hiding behind it. What happened next was something neither of them appeared to have expected.

A tiny kitten suddenly appeared through the opening, leaving viewers amazed. Destiny’s fiancé gently encouraged the little animal to come out before carefully picking it up and cuddling it. He could also be seen smiling at the camera after successfully rescuing the kitten.

The unexpected discovery quickly attracted attention online, with many people finding the incident both adorable and hilarious.

Several social media users suggested that the kitten should be given a name connected to the wall where it was found. Some suggested names such as “WALL-E” and “Wally”, while others joked that they wished a kitten would suddenly appear inside their own homes.

One person joked that the so-called cat distribution system was becoming increasingly aggressive, suggesting that cats were now finding unusual ways to enter people’s lives.

Another social media user praised the kitten’s unexpected arrival, writing that the wall had barely needed to push the little animal out. They jokingly compared the discovery to a natural birth and welcomed the new arrival.

Someone else made a joke about landlords, saying that some of them would apparently paint over anything without checking what might be hiding behind the walls.

Destiny responded humorously, suggesting that her fiancé must have reached a premium level to receive such a special reward.

However, the kitten was apparently not the only animal hiding behind the wall. When another person suggested that there could be more animals inside the attic, Destiny confirmed that there were indeed more kittens, as well as their mother.

The discovery suggests that the little kitten may have been part of a larger family that had somehow found its way into the space behind the walls.

Cats, particularly young kittens, are naturally curious animals. They enjoy exploring their surroundings, squeezing into small spaces and investigating places that may seem difficult for other animals to reach.

This behaviour is linked to their natural hunting instincts. Even domestic cats that live comfortably in people’s homes still have a strong desire to explore hidden spaces and investigate unfamiliar sounds.

It is possible that the kitten found its way into the wall while exploring, although exactly how it got there has not been independently confirmed.

Destiny was clearly grateful for her fiancé’s efforts and praised him in the caption accompanying the video, writing: “Not all heroes wear capes!”
