Trump MAGA followers caught lying about fast-rising Democratic star
Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a fast-rising Democratic star from Texas, has become a target of false claims by Trump’s MAGA supporters. They have accused her of becoming a multi-millionaire through corrupt means since her election to Congress in 2022.
One MAGA Twitter account, retweeted by Roger Stone, claimed Crockett’s net worth jumped from $29,000 to $9 million despite her congressional salary of $174,000.
However, these claims have been debunked. Congressional reporter Jake Sherman pointed out that Crockett’s financial disclosures show her assets are between $3,000 and $45,000, with no evidence of the alleged $9 million fortune.
Crockett, known for her outspoken criticism of Trump, Elon Musk, and the dismantling of federal government programs by the DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), has frequently clashed with MAGA supporters.
Her sharp remarks, including a viral Instagram post calling Trump’s recent address “a terrible nightmare,” have made her a prominent figure in Democratic politics.
She has also faced criticism from Democratic leadership for her confrontational style, particularly after joining Rep. Al Green in singing “We Shall Overcome” during a House censure vote.
Despite the false accusations, Crockett remains a vocal advocate for her beliefs, often calling out what she sees as misguided policies and alliances, such as Trump’s focus on conflicts with countries like Greenland and Canada while maintaining friendly relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The MAGA attacks on Crockett highlight the ongoing political polarization and the spread of misinformation in today’s political climate.
