President Donald Trump had a busy weekend, balancing his time between monitoring airstrikes in Yemen and playing golf at his Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach County, Florida.
On Truth Social, he proudly shared that he attended the “Golf Club Championship,” calling it “probably my last” and describing it as “such a great honor.”
After the golf event, Trump boarded Air Force One and, about 15 minutes before landing, emerged to speak with reporters. During the impromptu press gaggle, he launched into a series of falsehoods and attacks, particularly targeting President Joe Biden.
Trump falsely claimed that Biden had preemptively pardoned figures like Dr. Anthony Fauci and members of the January 6 committee, suggesting the pardons were signed mechanically without Biden’s knowledge—a claim that has no basis in fact.
As Trump continued his rant, repeating debunked claims about the January 6 committee “destroying” evidence, the plane experienced turbulence. Trump momentarily lost his balance, steadying himself before quipping, “I think we’re about to land, everybody! Have a good time, we’ll see you very soon.”
The pool report noted that the turbulence prompted Trump to return to his seat, ending the ten-minute gaggle. The incident highlighted Trump’s knack for staying in the spotlight, even as he repeated familiar and widely discredited claims about the January 6 investigation.
