Dictator Trump Won’t Be Stopped By Republicans’ as Prez Warns He Will Ignore Congress and Keep National Guard in DC Despite Massive Backlash

Donald Trump has made it clear he intends to act on his own terms, even if Congress objects. According to RadarOnline, the former president recently warned he could ignore lawmakers if they try to block his decision to keep the National Guard stationed in Washington, D.C. for longer than the 30 days normally allowed under the law.
Trump used the Home Rule Act to take control of the D.C. police force for up to a month. Normally, extending that power would require Congress’ approval, but Trump suggested he might bypass them altogether by declaring a national emergency. While he claimed he doesn’t want to take that step, he also said he will if necessary.
Not everyone is convinced his actions are justified. The Congressional Integrity Project accused Trump of abusing his authority, saying he sent in the National Guard without consulting local officials in order to shift attention away from scandals like his handling of the Epstein files and his dropping poll numbers. They warned that Trump’s threat to extend the deployment indefinitely is a dangerous power grab, and they called on Congress to push back.
Still, the group admitted it’s unlikely that Republican lawmakers will stand up to Trump. They argued that GOP leaders must choose between protecting the Constitution or continuing to enable Trump’s attempts to consolidate power. They also accused Republicans of letting Trump militarize Washington and potentially paving the way for troop deployments in other U.S. cities.
Trump defended his move by saying he was asking Congress for a small amount of money to “fix up” D.C. He also announced plans for a crime bill that would start in Washington but eventually expand to major cities like New York and Los Angeles.
His sudden focus on the capital reportedly began after he spotted homeless people during a drive to his golf club in Virginia. According to The Guardian, Trump became fixated on cleaning up the city after that trip. On Truth Social, he angrily demanded that homeless people be removed immediately, saying they would be relocated but kept far from the Capitol. He even posted photos of encampments and tents he claimed were taken from his motorcade.
In short, Trump is asserting control over Washington, D.C., brushing aside local officials and threatening to override Congress if they don’t go along. His critics say this is less about public safety and more about power, image, and distraction from his political troubles.
