People are still asking Donald Trump questions about his connection to Jeffrey Epstein, especially about whether he ever visited Epstein’s private island.
Epstein, who was a convicted sex offender, owned an island in the U.S. Virgin Islands called Little Saint James from 1998 to 2019. Many of his victims say that’s where a lot of his crimes took place. People living nearby on St. Thomas claimed they often saw Epstein flying in on his private jet with girls who looked like they were still in high school, sometimes twice a month.
Naturally, this island is not a place anyone wants to be linked to, but Trump keeps facing questions about it, especially since he had a past relationship with Epstein. At one point, Epstein called Trump his “closest friend for 10 years,” and Trump once said Epstein was “a terrific guy” and “a lot of fun,” even adding that Epstein liked beautiful women “on the younger side.”
Even though Trump now distances himself from Epstein, their past friendship keeps resurfacing. Trump was recently in Scotland playing golf and meeting UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, when someone asked him again about Epstein. Trump denied ever visiting Epstein’s island, saying, “I never had the privilege of going to his island, and I did turn it down.” He added that many people in Palm Beach were invited, but he was proud of himself for not going, calling it “one of my very good moments.”
Trump went further and said he stopped talking to Epstein years ago because of “inappropriate” behavior. He also claimed Epstein tried to hire people who worked for Trump at Mar-a-Lago, which led Trump to kick him out and ban him. Trump said, “I threw him out of the place… I’m glad I did, if you want to know the truth.”
Despite all this, Trump was still defensive. He said the stories around the Epstein files are overblown and accused his political enemies of using them as a smear campaign. He even claimed the whole situation was being pushed by what he called “the worst scum on Earth,” naming people like James Comey, Merrick Garland, and President Joe Biden.
In short, Trump continues to deny ever going to Epstein’s island, says he cut ties with Epstein long ago, and blames political opponents for keeping the story alive.
