Many people noticed that the crowd looked small, especially around the Washington Monument in D.C., where light rain fell during the event. The parade was meant to celebrate 250 years of the U.S. military, but instead of praise, it received a lot of criticism and jokes online.

One person joked that more people attended a protest called the “No Kings” rally in Springfield, Missouri, than showed up for Trump’s parade.
