Donald Trump humiliated as disappointing crowd turns up for Washington DC military parade

Donald Trump is being mocked online after fewer people showed up than expected for his big military birthday parade on Saturday. Many people noticed that the crowd looked small, especially around the Washington Monument in D.C., where light rain fell during the event. The parade was meant to celebrate 250 years of the U.S. military, but instead of praise, it received a lot of criticism and jokes online.

On Reddit, users made fun of the turnout, pointing out how empty the area looked. One person joked that more people attended a protest called the “No Kings” rally in Springfield, Missouri, than showed up for Trump’s parade. Others made fun of the fake cheering sounds, poor sound quality, and the fact that it cost so much money. The estimated price tag for the event was around \$45 million, and some commenters were angry that their tax money went into what they saw as a failed and overhyped celebration.

To make matters worse, the weather didn’t help. The event had to start 30 minutes earlier because of expected storms. Some important parts of the event, like military aircraft flyovers, were canceled or hidden by heavy clouds. Despite all of this, President Trump smiled and waved as tanks and troops moved down Constitution Avenue. The parade included soldiers dressed in old military uniforms from historic U.S. wars like the Revolutionary War and World War II.

The low turnout and problems with the event were seen as an embarrassment for Trump, especially given how much it cost. And on top of the \$45 million spent on organizing it, the U.S. Army may have to pay another \$3 to \$16 million to fix any damage to the streets caused by the heavy tanks. Many people felt the whole thing ended up being a waste of money and a disappointing show.
