Donald Trump launches scathing attack after new poll showed what US really thinks of him 5 months into presidency

Donald Trump is clearly frustrated after a new opinion poll showed that many Americans are unhappy with the way he’s handling things during his second time as president, even though he’s only been back in office for five months. The poll has sparked a strong reaction from him, especially since it was conducted by Fox News a network that used to be one of his strongest supporters.

When Trump returned to the White House in January, he made a lot of big promises. He talked about dramatic changes he planned to make, and some of those have already caused a lot of debate and public backlash. One of the most talked-about changes was something he called the “Big Beautiful Bill,” which he claimed would improve the country.

However, it didn’t go over well with everyone. Elon Musk, the well-known billionaire and tech entrepreneur, publicly criticized the bill, calling it “an abomination,” which led to a heated back-and-forth between him and Trump. This disagreement made headlines and showed that not even powerful public figures are all on board with Trump’s agenda.

At the same time, protests have broken out in places like Los Angeles, especially against ICE, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. Many people are unhappy with how immigration policies are being handled, and these demonstrations reflect that frustration. On top of that, Trump has also spoken out about the rising tensions in the Middle East, particularly between Israel and Iran, adding another layer to the growing list of issues his administration is dealing with.

The Fox News poll asked Americans for their thoughts on how Trump is doing on several key issues, including immigration, foreign policy, and the economy. The numbers showed that more people disapproved than approved of his performance in most areas. On immigration, 46% said they liked the way he was handling it, but 53% did not.

For foreign policy, the numbers were even worse—only 43% approved while 57% disapproved. The economy, which was considered one of Trump’s stronger areas during his first term, also didn’t bring him much good news. A significant number of people seem less confident in his ability to manage it this time around.

Trump didn’t take these results quietly. He went to Truth Social, the platform he uses to speak directly to his supporters, and slammed the poll as fake. He accused Fox News of being biased and claimed that their polls were wrong in the past, especially during the last election. According to Trump, the network has lost credibility, and he insisted that many of his supporters no longer trust it. He painted the whole thing as part of a broader effort to undermine him.

He also made some bold claims in an attempt to defend his record, especially when it comes to immigration and the U.S.–Mexico border. Trump said that under President Biden, around 60,000 people crossed the southern border in the same month last year, and that under his leadership now, that number is supposedly zero.

However, that claim doesn’t match up with any official data or facts mentioned in the poll. It appears to be an exaggeration aimed at making his policies look more effective than they might actually be.

Still, not all the poll results were negative for him. When it came to border security specifically, 53% of the people surveyed said they thought he was doing a good job. That number gave Trump at least one point of encouragement amid otherwise disappointing results.

The poll was based on responses from 1,003 registered voters, chosen randomly from across the United States to try to get a fair and balanced view of public opinion. Despite Trump’s strong reaction, Fox News has not made any public comments in response to his criticism.

For now, the poll stands as a snapshot of how many Americans feel about Trump’s second term so far—and it shows that he may have a long road ahead if he wants to win back broader public support.
