Donald Trump reveals if Trump Jr. would run for president while detailing his children’s future in politics

Donald Trump Jr. has talked before about the idea of running for president in the future, and recently his father, Donald Trump, gave his thoughts on it too.

Last year, during Donald Trump’s campaign for the presidency, his oldest son Don Jr. was very vocal in supporting him. He even reportedly pushed for JD Vance to be picked as his father’s running mate for Vice President. Don Jr. also hosts a podcast called Triggered with Don Jr. where he talks about political topics and current events.

People have been wondering if Don Jr. might want to run for president himself one day. When Donald Trump was recently interviewed on a podcast by journalist Miranda Devine, he was asked if he thought Don Jr. would run for president.

Trump didn’t give a clear answer. He said he wasn’t sure, but he believed all of his children had the potential to get involved in politics. He described Don Jr. as a good person and mentioned he enjoys the outdoors. Trump didn’t give a definite “yes,” which may be because Don Jr. has already said on social media that he’s not interested in running for office in 2028 or anytime soon, although he didn’t rule it out completely in the distant future.

Instead of focusing just on Don Jr., Trump spoke highly of all his children. He said they were all smart and had done well in life. He praised Eric Trump, called Barron “great” and mentioned how tall he is. He complimented Ivanka, saying she’s wonderful, and said Tiffany had done really well, attending a top law school and always being a strong student.

Barron, Trump’s youngest son with Melania Trump, is now 19 and recently started attending New York University, studying at the Stern School of Business. Besides his academic life, people have also noticed how tall he is—standing at 6 feet 7 inches.

Earlier this year in a Fox News interview, Trump said all of his children love America and are proud of him as their father. When asked if Barron is more interested in politics or business, Trump pointed out that his son is extremely skilled with technology. He shared a story about turning off Barron’s laptop only to find it back on minutes later. When he asked how Barron managed that, the teen just replied, “None of your business, Dad.” Trump called his son’s tech skills “unbelievable.”

In short, while Don Jr. and the rest of Trump’s children might have a future in politics, there are no clear plans yet—at least not for 2028.
