Donald Trump Totally Embarrassed on World Stage  His Tough Guy Act Just Fell Apart

On Thursday night, Israel carried out a major military strike against Iran, killing top Iranian military figures and damaging key sites. This surprise attack left Iran both hurt and embarrassed. However, the person most humiliated by this strike isn’t in Iran it’s Donald Trump. Despite being a close ally of Israel, Trump had made it clear in private and public that he didn’t want this attack to happen, especially since the U.S. was about to hold peace talks with Iran. Now those talks may be ruined.

Israel receives billions of dollars in military and financial aid from the U.S. every year—normally around \$4 billion, and even more since the October 2023 Hamas attacks. This support makes the U.S. essential to Israel’s survival. Yet, Israel ignored Trump’s wishes and went ahead with the attack anyway, knowing it could get away with it. This public rejection of Trump’s leadership is rare between allies and deeply embarrassing.

What’s even worse is that this isn’t the first time something like this has happened during Trump’s current time in office. During his 2024 campaign, Trump promised that he would restore America’s power and respect in the world. He said he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine on his first day. He claimed Hamas wouldn’t have dared attack Israel if he had been president at the time. He also promised to get better trade deals and bring peace to Gaza quickly.

But since taking office, none of those things have happened. There’s been no peace between Russia and Ukraine—Putin hasn’t made any real compromises and has launched even bigger attacks on Kyiv. Trump’s attempts to use tariffs to pressure countries like China have failed. He raised tariffs but had to back down without gaining any deals. He claimed he’d sign 90 new trade agreements in 90 days, but hasn’t managed even one.

In Gaza, any temporary peace deal that was in place during Biden’s last days quickly collapsed. Israel is now back occupying Gaza, and the situation there is worse than ever. Trump had even considered rejoining a version of the Iranian nuclear deal he once pulled out of, just so he could say he made progress. But now that Israel has acted on its own, that deal is likely off the table too.

Trump seems to treat international diplomacy like a reality TV show—talk tough, make a big splash, and hope things fall into place. But real diplomacy takes time, patience, and careful planning. Now, the U.S. looks weak and confused. It insults its allies and flatters its enemies, but gets nothing in return.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly ignored Trump and did what he wanted, showing that Trump’s influence is fading fast. For someone who claims to be the world’s best negotiator, Trump now has little to show. His promises are falling apart, and his image as a strong leader is crumbling.
