Mary Trump, the niece of former U.S. President Donald Trump, recently took the same mental test that her uncle once said was “very hard,” hoping to show how serious his decline might be.
Donald Trump has often bragged about taking the Montreal Cognitive Assessment — a short test used by doctors to check memory, attention, and thinking skills. He said he took it at Walter Reed Medical Center and “aced it,” proudly claiming he got every question right. He even challenged Democratic Congresswomen Jasmine Crockett and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to take the same test, calling them “low-IQ.”
Mary Trump, who is a psychologist, shared a video of her uncle from years ago where he described the test in great detail — recalling how he remembered a list of words like “person, woman, man, camera, TV.” He said that being able to repeat them later proved he had a “good memory” and was “cognitively there.”
More recently, Donald Trump reportedly took another mental test and an MRI scan at Walter Reed hospital. According to Mary Trump, such tests are usually ordered only when doctors worry about possible brain issues like a stroke. She said she couldn’t confirm what happened but found it troubling that he keeps boasting about “acing” those exams.
Mary Trump said frankly that she believes her uncle is “not a well man.” She explained that, in her opinion, his mental and emotional health appears to be getting worse. She pointed to signs of cognitive, psychological, emotional, and intellectual decline.
In her video, Mary took the same test herself. She easily remembered the words and repeated the sentences correctly, showing how simple the test really is for someone with normal cognitive ability. Through this, she seemed to be making the point that Donald Trump’s constant bragging about passing the test says more about his insecurities and possible decline than about his intelligence.
