Donald Trump’s Prestigious Golf Course In Jeopardy As State Authorities Demand Immediate Answers

Donald Trump’s well-known golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, is now facing serious legal trouble that could affect its ability to serve alcohol, which is a major part of its business and reputation.

On the surface, the club appears to be running smoothly, hosting events and maintaining its polished image, but behind the scenes, state officials are investigating its liquor licenses. This investigation is linked to Trump’s 34-count conviction in New York last year for falsifying business records.

According to New Jersey law, anyone convicted of a crime that involves dishonesty or corruption cannot legally hold a liquor license.

The state granted the club a temporary extension on June 30, allowing it to keep selling alcohol for six more months while the investigation continues. However, this extension comes with strict rules: all profits from liquor sales must be kept in a separate account, untouched by the club’s usual business, and no one connected to the ownership of the liquor licenses—including Donald Trump Jr.

and Eric Trump—can make money from it during this review period. The reason is that the licenses are owned by two LLCs that are part of the Trump Organization, which operates under Donald Trump’s revocable trust, making him a direct beneficiary.

Officials have now demanded full transparency from the Trump National Golf Club. By September 30, they must provide complete details about who owns the club, who controls it, and who benefits financially from its liquor sales. If they fail to do this, the state could completely revoke their liquor licenses. Losing them would be not only embarrassing but also financially damaging for Trump and his organization, as alcohol sales are a significant revenue stream for such exclusive private clubs.

This golf club has a long history with Trump. He bought the 520-acre property in 2002 for less than \$35 million when it was struggling, and within two years, he turned it into a 36-hole luxury golf destination known for its exclusivity, high-profile guests, and even political events. It is one of more than 20 golf courses Trump owns in the U.S. and abroad, including a new course he recently opened in Scotland in July 2025. His golf properties are set to host events on both the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf Tour in the same year, a rare and significant milestone.

The outcome of this legal review could have a wider impact on Trump’s entire golf empire, raising questions about how much his legal troubles might affect his business interests going forward. For now, the Bedminster club is operating under close watch, with its future depending on whether it can satisfy state regulators’ demands for honesty and accountability.
