Donald Trump’s Tacky $200 Million Ballroom Is Under Investigation (Video)

The House Oversight Committee is now digging into where the money is coming from to fund Donald Trump’s massive and extravagant new ballroom. The Democratic leader on the committee, Rep. Robert Garcia, shared in an interview that they’re investigating whether foreign governments might be bankrolling the project, as well as looking into other possible shady activity around its construction.

The ballroom is reportedly a 90,000-square-foot, gold-covered structure with a price tag close to $200 million. According to Garcia, not only is its size bigger than the White House, but the entire project raises serious ethical and legal concerns. He called it a “monstrosity” and said even if private donations are covering the cost, it still shouldn’t be happening.

So far, the White House has claimed that no taxpayer money is being used, and that the funding is coming from Trump himself and wealthy donors. Some of those donors are big names, including Google, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Palantir. In fact, YouTube reportedly gave $22 million of a $24 million legal settlement with Trump toward the ballroom. This has only added more questions about who’s involved and why.

Garcia emphasized that oversight officials are already working on uncovering the full story. He and political commentator Ben Meiselas both pointed out that this massive, flashy construction seems like a symbol of Trump’s ongoing corruption. They also talked about Trump’s strange and unverified claim that $17 trillion has come into the U.S. economy since the start of his second term—something experts say is completely made up, since such a number would represent a historic leap in the country’s GDP.

Garcia joked that if $17 trillion really did exist, no one in government seems to know where it is. The Treasury Department hasn’t seen it, and none of the congressional committees have any idea what Trump is talking about. Garcia said Trump is either flat-out lying or hiding money in some impossible way—either scenario being deeply troubling.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s team also jumped in, reposting the interview and questioning how Trump could claim trillions in new investment while also being responsible for a government shutdown. Their message was clear: either the money isn’t real, or Trump is deliberately misleading the public.

When the Daily Beast reached out for comments, the White House first responded with an automatic message blaming Democrats for the shutdown. Later, a spokesman gave a more direct answer, accusing Democrats of trying to distract from their own actions and focusing too much on Trump instead.

  1. Imagine being so stupid that you look at this treasonous, traitorous, totally corrupt, self-serving, ignorant clown, this racist, semi- literate moron, this sexually assaulting, pathologically lying, feeble-minded, morally bankrupt, constitutionally-illiterate simpleton, this bloated nitwit with his cotton candy hair, radioactive tinted skin and obese dishevelment, and think “Now that is a guy I really admire”.
