Elon Musk breaks silence after being named in Epstein files and makes huge claim about what really happened

Elon Musk has publicly responded after his name appeared in newly released documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier and convicted sex offender who died in jail in 2019. These documents were made public by Democratic members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on September 26, 2025.
The files include Epstein’s personal schedules and visitor logs, and in one entry dated December 6, 2014, Musk’s name appears with a note asking, “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec.6 (is this still happening?)”
This mention led to media outlets reporting that Musk may have been planning to visit Epstein’s private island, Little St. James, located in the U.S. Virgin Islands—a place widely associated with Epstein’s abuse of underage girls. Musk has strongly denied ever setting foot on the island or having any association with Epstein’s activities. He described the reports as completely false and accused the media, particularly Sky News, of publishing headlines that were misleading and dishonest.
In his response, Musk emphasized that not only did he never visit the island, but he also explicitly turned down an invitation from Epstein. He said that despite refusing to go, the reports still tried to connect him to the scandal, which he called unjust and deceptive. Musk expressed outrage that his name was being brought up before others, like Prince Andrew, who is known to have traveled with Epstein on multiple occasions. According to Musk, this reveals a biased effort to create controversy where there is none, possibly to distract from others with more concrete ties to Epstein.
He further alleged that the U.S. government under Donald Trump may have tried to protect certain people, including Trump himself, from scrutiny in the Epstein investigation. Musk claimed Trump’s name could appear in more files that have yet to be fully released, and he suggested that the administration may have tried to suppress or hide information about the former president’s connections to Epstein. Musk had made some of these claims in a series of posts on social media but later deleted them, possibly due to the legal or political sensitivity of the statements.
Meanwhile, the documents that were released do confirm that Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, was a passenger on one of Epstein’s private jets. A flight log shows that on May 12, 2000, he flew from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Palm Beach, Florida, alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s long-time associate and romantic partner. Maxwell has since been convicted of sex trafficking minors for Epstein and is currently serving a 20-year sentence in federal prison. One of Epstein’s victims claimed she was only 14 when she was on the same jet with the prince. This detail was brought up during Maxwell’s criminal trial, which revealed how Epstein and his inner circle operated over the years.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing or involvement in Epstein’s crimes, but his association with the disgraced financier continues to follow him, both in legal discussions and in the public eye. The latest documents only add to the long list of known connections between Epstein and powerful individuals from various industries, including politics, technology, business, and royalty.
Other notable names also appear in the released records. For example, Epstein had scheduled a breakfast with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on December 4, 2014. He also planned to have lunch with Peter Thiel, a well-known venture capitalist and co-founder of PayPal, on November 27, 2017. Additionally, the documents show a planned meeting with Steve Bannon, Donald Trump’s former chief strategist, on February 16, 2019. This was just a few months before Epstein was arrested and charged with sex trafficking minors.
All of this continues to raise questions about how Epstein managed to maintain relationships with some of the wealthiest and most influential men in the world, even after he was a registered sex offender. According to a spokesperson for the House Oversight Committee, each new release of documents reveals more layers of how far Epstein’s connections reached. The spokesperson also emphasized that the committee’s goal is to seek justice for the victims and ensure that those who were complicit—or who looked the other way—are held accountable.
The committee confirmed that all names of victims and survivors have been redacted from the documents to protect their privacy and safety. More files are expected to be released as the redaction process continues. These documents are part of a broader investigation into how Epstein operated for so long without being stopped, and how he maintained such a wide network of high-profile relationships despite his criminal behavior being known in some circles.
As more information comes out, public scrutiny is likely to grow not just around those who were close to Epstein, but also around institutions, governments, and media outlets that may have failed to investigate or expose him earlier. Elon Musk’s strong denial and his counterclaims have added another layer of complexity to the unfolding story, which continues to reveal the dark undercurrents of power, privilege, and silence.
