Ex-staffer who turned against president makes ‘prediction’ about post-Trump US

U.S. President Donald Trump waved as he arrived back at the White House on March 1, 2026, after the United States and Israel carried out military strikes on Iran.

A former member of Trump’s team, Anthony Scaramucci, believes that after Trump finishes his second term, the country will go through a time of healing and renewal. Scaramucci, who briefly served as White House communications director during Trump’s first term for only 10 days, said he thinks America will slowly recover once Trump is no longer in office.

In an interview with The Guardian, Scaramucci explained that time will be the most important factor in helping the country move forward. He said he expects a period where Americans reflect on what has happened, followed by redemption and a fresh start. According to him, the United States has always managed to fix itself after difficult periods, and he believes it will do so again.

Scaramucci also spoke about the possible release of files connected to Jeffrey Epstein. He said he does not believe those files would seriously damage Trump. In his view, Trump’s personality makes him hard to defeat politically. He described Trump as impulsive and unpredictable, and said that because of that, people should never assume he is finished politically.

Earlier in the week, Scaramucci criticized the decision to strike Iran in a post on X, the social media platform. He argued that when a democracy carries out a military attack without approval from lawmakers, it weakens its own moral standing. He said that avoiding the usual democratic process makes the country look less different from the authoritarian governments it claims to oppose.

Meanwhile, Democratic strategist Simon Rosenberg suggested that political changes could happen sooner rather than later. He believes Trump may soon lose strong control of the Senate, depending on the outcome of the November midterm elections. Rosenberg said Trump’s recent public appearances felt dramatic and theatrical, almost like a final celebration. However, he argued that there was no real change in direction that would solve Trump’s political challenges.

Rosenberg added that although Trump may have enjoyed being in the spotlight and may have reconnected with some voters, he does not think it was enough to significantly improve Trump’s political position during what he described as a difficult period for him.
