FBI busts alleged LA riot leader who was filmed helping to distribute ‘Bionic Shield’ face masks to protesters

The FBI has arrested a man they believe played a major role in the recent riots in Los Angeles. His name is Alejandro Theodoro Orellana, and officials say he helped organize the chaos by handing out protective gear to protesters. On Thursday morning, FBI agents arrested him, and he now faces a serious charge: conspiracy to commit civil disorder.

According to authorities, Orellana was involved in giving out face shields specifically a type called “Bionic Shields” to people protesting against ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement). These protests turned into riots in parts of the city, and officials say Orellana helped fuel the unrest by making it easier for rioters to stay protected during clashes with law enforcement.

Footage from Tuesday reportedly shows a group of protesters running up to a truck to grab the shields, and investigators say Orellana was the one driving that truck. In addition to the face shields, people were also seen handing out bottled water and other supplies.

U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, who represents the Central District of California, said that law enforcement is working fast to find and arrest people involved in organizing or helping with the riots. The goal, he said, is to hold those accountable who aren’t just protesting but encouraging violence or destruction.

Authorities are now continuing to investigate the situation and looking into whether others may have helped Orellana or were part of the effort to supply the rioters.
