Fox News poll reveals what Americans really think about Trump’s job performance

A recent national poll conducted by Fox News gives a clearer picture of how Americans feel about President Donald Trump and his job performance. The results show that opinions remain deeply divided, with more people unhappy than satisfied with the way he is leading the country.

According to the survey, 46 out of every 100 voters said they approve of the job he is doing, while 54 out of every 100 said they do not. This means that overall, more voters are critical of him than supportive. When people were asked about their personal feelings toward Trump rather than his performance, the outcome was very similar. Forty-three percent of voters said they have a favorable opinion of him, while a majority, 57 percent, said they have an unfavorable opinion.

Even though Trump’s overall ratings are negative, he scored higher in certain areas, particularly on issues related to law enforcement and immigration. For example, a strong majority, 57 percent of voters, said they approve of how he is handling border security, an issue that has been central to his presidency.

Half of voters also approved of how he is addressing crime and policing in large cities. The survey also showed that many Americans believe the federal government should have a role in controlling crime in major cities, with 53 percent supporting this idea. This aligns with Trump’s recent decision to send federal troops into Washington, D.C., to deal with unrest, a move that has sparked a lot of debate nationwide.

While he received higher marks in those areas, Trump’s performance on economic issues was rated much more poorly. The economy and the cost of living were the areas where he faced his lowest approval ratings. Only 39 percent of voters approved of how he is handling the economy, and an even smaller share, 32 percent, approved of how he is dealing with the rising cost of living. These results suggest that many Americans are struggling financially and do not feel that the Trump administration is helping ease those challenges. In fact, more than half of voters—52 percent—said they believe his administration has actually made the economy worse, compared with just 30 percent who felt it has made the economy better. When asked how they view the economy in general right now, only 29 percent of people said they think it is in good condition, while a large majority of 71 percent said they think it is in bad shape.

The poll was carefully designed to gather a wide range of opinions. It was carried out jointly by two research groups, Beacon Research, which tends to work with Democrats, and Shaw & Company Research, which tends to work with Republicans. This was done to ensure balance and fairness in the survey results. A total of 1,004 registered voters were interviewed between September 6 and September 9. Because polls can never be exact, there is a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points, meaning the true numbers could be slightly higher or lower.
