Jeffrey Epstein’s Brother Believes Trump Delayed Release of Files Because ‘There’s Things in There He Doesn’t Want People to See’

Mark Epstein has been speaking publicly about why he thinks former President Donald Trump waited so long to support releasing the files connected to Jeffrey Epstein, his late brother. Mark says he believes the delay wasn’t accidental — in his view, Trump may have been worried that the documents could contain information he didn’t want the public to see. This is only Mark’s belief, and there is no evidence proving that anything in the files relates negatively to Trump. His comments are speculative, but he has continued to repeat them in several interviews.

He also talks about the relationship he says Jeffrey and Trump had in the 1990s. According to Mark, the two men were not just acquaintances — they were friendly, traveled together, and spent time in each other’s offices. Mark says he remembers Jeffrey mentioning that he and Trump took flights together on private jets, and that Trump visited Jeffrey’s office fairly often. Mark argues that investigators shouldn’t just look at Jeffrey’s flight logs, but also Trump’s flight logs from the same time period, suggesting that might reveal more about their past association. None of this has been independently confirmed, and these accounts rely heavily on Mark’s recollections.

Mark also claims Jeffrey told him he eventually stopped being close with Trump because he believed Trump was dishonest. He says this comment was recorded somewhere, though he hasn’t produced any recording or evidence to support that claim. He adds that, according to Jeffrey, Trump called him after the 2016 election, surprised that he had actually won. Trump, for his part, has said he had not spoken to Jeffrey in many years before Jeffrey’s death.

In another recent interview, Mark alleged that someone told him Republican names were being removed from the Epstein files to protect certain politicians. He claims this information came from a person he considers a reliable source, but he has not identified the person, and there is no verified evidence of any files being altered. He also suggests Jeffrey had information about Trump during the 2016 election that could have been damaging, but he admits Jeffrey never shared details with him. These statements remain unproven allegations.

The White House responded strongly to Mark’s comments, dismissing them entirely and labeling them as “baseless.” Rather than address Mark’s specific claims about Trump, the spokesperson pointed to several Democrats who had past interactions with Jeffrey Epstein and argued that those connections deserved scrutiny as well. Some of those politicians have already addressed their past contact with Jeffrey, saying they didn’t know about his crimes at the time or had no real relationship with him. Others insist they don’t recall emails or invitations linked to Jeffrey.

Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were known to socialize in the same circles in the 1990s and were photographed together at social events, including at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property. Over the years, especially after Epstein’s arrest, Trump worked to distance himself from him, saying they had a falling-out long before the public learned of Epstein’s crimes.

Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on federal charges involving the sex trafficking of minors. The case drew national attention because of his wealth, his connections with powerful people, and longstanding questions about how he avoided serious punishment for similar accusations in the past. While awaiting trial in a New York jail, he died by suicide, according to official reports. His death led to widespread speculation and a renewed push to release all documents related to his activities and the people who associated with him.

Much of what Mark Epstein is now saying reflects his own interpretations, suspicions, and memories. Many of his claims have not been proven, and some directly contradict public statements from others involved. However, his comments continue to fuel public curiosity about the Epstein case, the people connected to it, and what the long-hidden files might eventually reveal.
