Mary Trump Says Uncle Donald ‘Isn’t the Problem Anymore,’ Then Reveals the Real Issue

Mary Trump, who is Donald Trump’s niece, recently shared her opinion on how the controversy around the Jeffrey Epstein files might affect her uncle’s political future. She believes it could hurt him, especially in the short term, but doesn’t think it will completely destroy the political movement he helped create. In fact, she said that Donald Trump himself is no longer the main problem.

During a Q&A session on social media, Mary was asked if the Epstein scandal might eventually end the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement. She responded by saying it could have that effect over time, but not right away. Right now, she thinks it will damage Trump’s reputation among his most loyal supporters, which is serious because they are the foundation of his political power.

Mary, who is a psychologist and the author of a book that criticizes her uncle, explained that the issue hits close to home for Trump’s base, making it a bigger threat to him than some people might expect. However, she doesn’t believe Trump will face legal consequences, even if the files show a deeper connection between him and Epstein. That’s because his team is fiercely loyal, and a recent Supreme Court ruling says presidents can’t be charged for actions considered part of their official duties.

She warned that even if this controversy somehow forces Trump out of office, the problem doesn’t end there. His vice president, J.D. Vance, would take over—and that could bring its own challenges. Mary emphasized that while it’s important for the truth to come out, people need to understand that Trump himself isn’t the only issue anymore. The movement and the people around him have become just as concerning.

She pointed out that during Trump’s second term, he has surrounded himself with people who fully support his political style, unlike in his first term, when some advisors tried to rein him in. According to Mary, this shows a repeat of family patterns she saw growing up. Trump acts like he always has—overconfident, defensive, and aggressive, traits she connects to how their father, Fred Trump, ran the family.

Mary also mentioned Trump’s recent strange rant about windmills as a sign that his mental condition might be declining. The Daily Beast has contacted the White House for a response, but so far, there has been no official comment.
