New poll reveals how many Americans actually believe Donald Trump’s policies have helped them and the results are shocking

Donald Trump has been very busy signing executive orders since becoming president again in January. In fact, reports say he’s already signed almost 200 of them this year. On his very first day back in office, he signed 25, and more have followed in the weeks and months since. According to the Federal Register, the number has now reached around 170.

One of the more recent orders was signed on July 7. It was about extending the tariffs — taxes placed on imported goods — that the U.S. has with other countries. These tariffs will now stay in place until at least August 1, except for those involving China. This decision was reported by CNN.

Although these orders are supposed to help make life better for Americans and strengthen the U.S. economy, not everyone is convinced they’re doing any good. A new poll has shown just how divided people are on Trump’s actions.

The poll was carried out by the Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and released on July 17. It found that 49% of Americans believe Trump’s policies have caused more harm than good. Only 25% of people said they personally feel helped by what he’s doing.

Another poll from earlier this month showed that more than half of the people surveyed — 52% — disapprove of how Trump is handling the job overall. That’s a tough number for any president.

And the frustration isn’t just coming from Democrats or independents — even many Republicans are starting to express disappointment in how Trump is leading the country.

One major point of anger for many Americans is the issue surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s so-called “client list.” People had hoped that Trump’s administration would push for more transparency about who Epstein was connected to. But the FBI recently released a report saying they didn’t find any such list or proof that Epstein was blackmailing powerful people.

Despite this, a large number of Americans believe the government is hiding something. A different poll by The Economist and YouGov revealed that 67% of people think the government is keeping secrets when it comes to Epstein’s connections.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has also joined those who think there’s a cover-up. On Twitter, he replied to someone who dismissed the whole idea, saying plainly: “It’s a cover-up (obviously).” Musk also pointed out that not a single one of Epstein’s high-profile clients has faced any legal consequences.

These growing suspicions are adding more pressure on Trump, as many Americans demand that all documents related to Epstein be made public. There’s a strong sense that people want truth and accountability — and right now, they’re not feeling like they’re getting either.
