NYC beatdown victim turns tables and opens fire on attackers, leaving one clinging to life, wild video shows

A dramatic and violent scene unfolded on a Bronx street in broad daylight, and it was all caught on video. Around 1 p.m. on a Monday afternoon, a man found himself under a vicious attack by two younger men near the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Westchester Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood.

What began as a brutal beatdown quickly took a shocking turn when the man being assaulted pulled out a gun and shot one of his attackers.

The video, which has been circulating online, begins with the two attackers forcing their target up against a wall. The victim appears to be outnumbered and trying to protect himself as the two men begin hitting him.

One of the attackers, with no hesitation or mercy, kicks the man in the face while also recording the entire assault on his phone. The attackers repeatedly punch and kick the victim, who crouches on the ground, clearly overwhelmed and trying to avoid further injury.

Despite taking a serious beating, the man being attacked doesn’t stay down for long. He eventually manages to stand up, even while one of the attackers tries to restrain him from behind.

The man, now holding a gun, fires it over his shoulder and hits the attacker—who was wearing a black T-shirt and bright orange shorts—right in the stomach. The shooter didn’t seem to hesitate. The shot caused the attacker to immediately fall to the sidewalk, unable to move, his condition appearing very serious.

At the same time, the second attacker, who had been filming and was wearing red sweatpants and a white T-shirt, ran off as more shots were fired in his direction. He didn’t wait to see what happened next—he simply took off as fast as he could once the gun came out.

The video shows the shooter calmly walking past the man he had just shot. Dressed in black pants and a black sweater layered over a white shirt, the shooter pauses briefly, looks down at the man lying on the pavement, and then continues on as the clip comes to an end.

Police later confirmed that the 27-year-old man who was shot was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where doctors listed his condition as critical. He was gravely wounded and remains under hospital care.

As of now, no arrests have been made. Authorities are still looking into what led to the violent confrontation and who exactly was involved. The investigation is ongoing as detectives try to piece together the full story behind the events that turned a street attack into a life-threatening shooting in the middle of the day.
