People think they’ve spotted ‘sad and pathetic’ detail in Trump’s military parade speech that’s left them ’embarrassed’

Donald Trump gave a speech at a military parade over the weekend, which happened to fall on his 79th birthday. The event was held in Washington D.C. to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. Trump was joined by his wife Melania, members of his family, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. He walked out to a mix of patriotic music and birthday tunes.
The parade was a big production, showcasing tanks, aircraft, parachuters, and over 6,000 soldiers dressed in historical uniforms. It was designed to show the history of the U.S. Army from the Revolutionary War to today. Trump gave an eight-minute speech at the end, saying that other countries celebrate their military victories, so America should too. He claimed the U.S. is the “hottest country in the world” and warned that American soldiers would defend the country from any threats.
The event was aired on many news channels, but the version broadcast by Fox News caught special attention online. Some people on Reddit and other social media platforms accused Fox of adding fake cheering and applause to make it seem like the crowd was more enthusiastic when Trump began speaking. One person said it was “sad and pathetic,” and others said it sounded unnatural, like sound effects from a small stadium.
A few people pushed back on those claims, saying that cheering could be heard on other broadcasts too, and that the difference was likely due to how each network handled their microphones and sound settings. So far, Fox News hasn’t commented on the issue.
Trump’s team claimed that more than 250,000 people showed up to support him, even though there was a chance of rain. But several major news outlets, including the Associated Press and the New York Times, reported that the actual crowd looked much smaller than that.
At the same time, there were protests against the parade. In Philadelphia, a group called “No Kings” organized a demonstration to oppose the event. They criticized the parade as being expensive, unnecessary, and not in line with American values, especially during tough times for many people.
