Sheriff warns protestors ‘we will kill you’ and ‘notify family where to collect remains’

Florida has a very strict law that was passed in 2021. It says that even peaceful protesters can be arrested and charged if the protest turns violent. But now, things are getting even more serious. One of Florida’s top law enforcement officers has made some very intense and dangerous comments.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey, who works in Brevard County, told the public that anyone joining anti-Trump protests this weekend should be ready for harsh consequences if they act violently. He warned that if anyone throws a brick, a firebomb, or points a gun at police officers, the police won’t hesitate to use deadly force. In his own words, he said, “We will kill you, graveyard dead,” and even said families would be told where to pick up the person’s body.

His statement was made just before a wave of anti-Trump demonstrations planned in over 1,500 cities across the United States. These protests are set to take place on the same day that former President Donald Trump plans to hold a military-style parade in Washington, D.C. That parade is meant to be a grand public display of power and celebration.

Sheriff Ivey didn’t stop there. During a press conference, he also said that if people block roads or refuse to follow police instructions, they will be arrested. If they surround a car, he said they could be run over. He added that if anyone spits on an officer, they’ll first go to the hospital and then to jail. If someone hits an officer, they’ll end up in the hospital and jail too — and might also get bitten by one of the police dogs.

These tough warnings come after protests in California became violent. There, Trump had ordered National Guard troops and U.S. Marines into Los Angeles, even though the state’s governor didn’t want them involved.

As more rallies are planned in places like Chicago, New York, and Miami, the group organizing the protests — called the 50501 Movement — said they’re doing it to stand up against what they call Trump’s abuse of power. They say he and his allies are becoming more controlling and corrupt. According to the movement, they’ve seen people arrested just for expressing their opinions, citizens threatened with deportation, and laws ignored by those in power.

The group says Trump’s military parade is meant to show off strength, but they believe real strength comes from everyday people standing up for justice and fairness. They made it clear they believe the American flag doesn’t belong to Trump — it belongs to the people. They want to send a message: they’re not just watching history happen — they’re trying to change it.
