Shocking Reason Obama and Kamala Harris both agree Donald Trump is leading presidency with ‘fear’

Donald Trump has been stirring things up among Democrats lately especially with Barack Obama and Kamala Harris. Though they’re from the same party, it’s no shock they share similar views on Trump. But both have recently accused him of running the presidency with “fear.” So, what’s that about?
Trump recently announced a new global tax plan a 10% baseline rate, with even higher tariffs for 60 countries he called his “worst offenders.” He made the announcement during a Rose Garden speech, declaring it “Liberation Day” for the U.S.
Obama and Harris have mostly stayed quiet since the election, but they’ve both started speaking out. At a speech in New York, Obama criticized not just Trump’s economic policies but what he sees as deeper threats like pressuring universities to punish students for free speech or strong-arming law firms into dropping clients the White House doesn’t like.
“That kind of behavior goes against what America stands for,” Obama said.
Harris, who ran against Trump in 2024, also spoke up, warning that the White House is spreading a “sense of fear” across the country.
“People and organizations are staying quiet, giving in to unconstitutional threats,” she said. “But courage is contagious. When one person stands up and says, ‘This is wrong,’ others follow.”
Both Obama and Harris seem to be sounding the alarm not just about policies, but about what they see as a dangerous shift in how power is being used.
