“Trump is Such a Child!”—Donald Trump’s Distasteful Flag Pole Joke Leaves Netizens Baffled

Donald Trump has once again drawn criticism for making an inappropriate joke, and this time, it’s not just about his wife — but also about a new addition to the White House. People online are calling his behavior childish and tasteless, especially since this comes just weeks after another awkward moment involving his wife, Melania.

Earlier this month, Trump tried to make a joke after playing golf with pro golfer Bryson DeChambeau. In a video posted to social media, the 79-year-old admitted that he’s nowhere near as skilled as Bryson — and then made a strange remark involving Melania. Trump said, “My wife says, ‘Are you as long as Bryson?’ I said, ‘Yeah, so, it’s pretty close.’ It’s not close.”

Many viewers were left scratching their heads, wondering if he was still talking about golf or trying to make a double-meaning joke. The remark was widely viewed as uncomfortable, and social media users quickly labeled it as inappropriate and awkward.

Now, Trump has stirred controversy again — this time while unveiling two massive flagpoles at the White House. During a speech at the ceremony, instead of keeping things formal, Trump made another offhand comment that left people cringing. He started by describing the installation process and said, “Let’s have a good — they call it a lifting,” before hinting at a different word. He added, “It starts with an E. You know what the word is? If I ever used it, I’d be run out of town by you people.”

It was clear to many that he was referencing the word “erecting,” and people online didn’t take it well. Almost instantly, social media was flooded with criticism. One person wrote, “Erecting. Trump is such a child!” Others chimed in with sarcasm, saying things like, “God, he always sounds so dignified and presidential,” and “I’ve heard more maturity from a toddler.”

Some users mocked the President for wasting time on what they saw as silly remarks instead of focusing on serious national matters. “Wow, what a president,” one person wrote. Another sarcastically said it was “great” to see the leader of the country focusing on such “important stuff.”

The backlash also sparked renewed discussion about Trump’s mental health. One commenter pointed out that “people with dementia tend to behave more childishly as it progresses.” This wasn’t the first time such speculation has come up. Journalist David Shuster recently stated that the rumors about Trump’s cognitive decline are not just gossip. According to Shuster, White House staff have noticed signs such as increased confusion, memory problems, and frequent angry outbursts.

While Trump’s supporters may laugh off his comments as humor, critics see them as signs of poor judgment, lack of professionalism, and possibly something more serious going on behind the scenes. Either way, the growing number of eyebrow-raising moments is making it harder for many to take the president’s words seriously.
