Trump threatens Elon Musk with ‘very serious consequences’ if he decides to do this one thing as feud continues

The ongoing fight between Elon Musk and Donald Trump doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. What started as a strong relationship between two powerful men has now turned into a public falling out. Donald Trump has made it very clear that he’s no longer on good terms with Musk, and he isn’t interested in fixing things either.

Trump and Musk were once close allies. Musk had supported Trump during his earlier presidency, and Trump had even given Musk several business advantages during his first term.

But things took a turn when Musk criticized a new government spending plan—something Trump proudly calls his “big, beautiful bill,” which includes more tax cuts for Americans. Musk didn’t hold back his opinions, openly slamming the bill as bad policy. Since then, tensions between the two have grown worse.

In a phone interview with NBC, Trump said he has no plans to reconcile with Musk. When asked directly if their relationship was over, Trump answered, “I would assume so, yeah.” He went on to say that he’s too busy with other matters, reminding everyone that he helped Musk significantly during his first term. “I gave him a lot of breaks, I even saved his life,” Trump claimed, without explaining what he meant by that. He made it clear—he has no plans to speak to Musk again.

Now things have escalated even further. Trump has threatened Elon Musk with what he called “very serious consequences” if Musk decides to support Democratic political campaigns with his money. Although Trump didn’t say exactly what those consequences would be, the warning was clear. Since Musk’s companies like Tesla and SpaceX rely heavily on government contracts, the threat could involve cutting those deals as punishment.

Trump’s remarks suggest he now sees Musk as a potential political enemy. And given Trump’s history of using his position to hit back at critics, Musk might be at risk of losing government support for his companies if the feud continues.

Meanwhile, Trump’s Vice President, JD Vance, is taking a softer tone. He spoke positively about Musk in a recent interview, even though he admitted Musk was making a “huge mistake” by clashing with Trump. Vance called Musk an emotional person who is probably just acting out of frustration.

He said he hopes Musk will return to the Trump team someday, even though things have gone too far for that to happen easily. He praised Musk as a brilliant businessman and spoke highly of his government reform efforts through the Department of Government Efficiency, which had focused on cutting spending and reducing the federal workforce.

At this point, it’s clear the bond between Trump and Musk is broken—and unless something major changes, the feud is likely to get even more intense.
