Donald Trump is back in the spotlight for another heated outburst this time, he’s taking aim at his own government.
Lately, Trump has been furious about several things. He ranted over a South Park episode that mocked him, dismissed the idea of pardoning rapper Diddy (who criticized him), and made a bold military move by sending nuclear submarines closer to Russia.
At the same time, he introduced a wave of new tariffs and tried to latch onto a trending meme involving Jet2 holidays, using it to show people being deported something that didn’t exactly land well with many people.
But the biggest source of his anger right now is the U.S. Senate. Trump wants to appoint several people to key positions in his administration, but the approval process is dragging on. Democrats have been using this as leverage, asking for certain funding to be restored before they help him move the nominations forward. Talks broke down, and with Congress heading off for their August recess, no deal was made.
That sent Trump into a fury.
He lashed out on his social media platform, Truth Social, calling Democrats “Radical Left Lunatics” and directly attacking Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, nicknaming him “Cryin’ Chuck Schumer.” Trump claimed the Democrats were trying to extort him politically and said Republican senators should tell Schumer to “GO TO HELL”in all capital letters.
Schumer responded calmly during a press conference, saying he was open to reasonable negotiations but accused Trump of losing his temper and giving up. He mocked Trump’s negotiation skills by referencing his own book title, asking, “Is this the ‘Art of the Deal’?”
As Trump continues to rage publicly, questions about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein still loom in the background. In a recent comment, Trump claimed Epstein “stole” Virginia Giuffre from his Mar-a-Lago resort—an odd and concerning statement.
Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s close associate who’s currently serving a 20-year prison sentence, has reportedly been in talks with U.S. officials. Her legal team says she may be willing to testify about Epstein in exchange for some legal protections.
So while Trump wages political battles in Washington, his past controversies still cast a long shadow and they’re not going away anytime soon.
