‘Where’s DOGE at When You Need Them?’ Charlamagne Calls Out Trump for Planning $90 Million Military Parade While ‘Economy Is in the Toilet’

Charlamagne tha God didn’t hold back when talking about Donald Trump’s plan for a big military parade. He thought it was a bad idea, especially with everything going on in the country.

He pointed out that the economy isn’t doing well, people are losing jobs, and many are struggling to save for the future. So for Trump to want a flashy, expensive celebration didn’t make much sense to him.

The news had come out the day before that Trump’s team was starting to talk about putting together a parade in Washington, D.C. They were thinking about doing it on June 14, which is both Trump’s birthday and a major anniversary for the U.S. Army. But the cost? Around $92 million. That’s a huge amount of money to spend on a parade, especially when people are already worried about their finances.

Charlamagne pointed out the irony. He mentioned how Trump’s policies, like putting tariffs on imported goods, had made things worse for the economy. And yet, here he was, planning a celebration like everything was fine. He also brought up the Department of Government Efficiency, which is supposed to stop wasteful spending. He asked why they weren’t stepping in now. But he joked that maybe Trump’s position as president was keeping him safe from being questioned.

He made it clear he didn’t think a military parade was the right way to celebrate. Instead, he suggested that if Trump wanted a birthday party, he should have a small, private gathering with family and close friends at his resort in Mar-a-Lago. That way, the military wouldn’t be dragged into something that seemed more like a personal celebration than a national event.

At the time, nothing was officially planned yet. The White House said no military parade had been scheduled, which means it was still just an idea being talked about. But Charlamagne clearly thought it was the wrong idea at the wrong time.
