Whoopi Goldberg had another one of her dramatic reactions on The View, collapsing back into her chair during a heated discussion about Donald Trump and Amazon. It wasn’t a medical emergency just another one of her signature moves to express disbelief or frustration during a political conversation.
This time, the topic was about Trump’s recent economic policies, specifically the tariffs he’s put in place that are affecting prices on Amazon. Goldberg started the segment by pointing out how Trump’s approval ratings have taken a hit during his first 100 days of this new term. She then introduced a video clip of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who defended the tariffs and claimed they were part of the reason Trump was re-elected, calling his first-term economic plan a “historic success.
Things got more intense when a reporter at that press conference revealed that Amazon is now showing customers exactly how much Trump’s tariffs are increasing the price of each item. Leavitt slammed the move, saying it was politically motivated and meant to stir public anger.
Back in the studio, the camera cut to Whoopi, who was so overwhelmed by the conversation that she leaned all the way back in her chair, pretending to faint in disbelief. Her cohosts reacted immediately Joy Behar called for her to come back, and Alyssa Farah Griffin joked, “We lost Whoop!”
Goldberg sat back up with a dazed expression and admitted she didn’t know how to respond. She stayed quiet for a bit while the rest of the panel took over the conversation.
Sara Haines added her own thoughts, saying she believed Amazon was being honest by showing how much of the price hike was due to the tariffs. She argued that if Trump really believed in this economic move, he should stand by it proudly instead of trying to deflect blame when the consequences become public.
