Woman who disappeared a year ago shockingly turns up at gas station but is arrested just minutes later

In June 2024, 35-year-old Tori Milsak disappeared from Hot Springs, Arkansas, leaving her family deeply worried and sparking a major police search. For over a year, no one knew where she was or what had happened to her.
Then, in a surprising turn of events, Tori suddenly showed up at a gas station in Little Rock in June 2025. She approached a staff member, told them who she was, and explained that she had been missing. The staff contacted the police, and when officers arrived, they arrested her due to an outstanding warrant.
The Hot Springs Police Department later posted on Facebook confirming that Tori had been found on June 19, 2025, and was safe. They thanked everyone who had shared her missing persons information, but said no more details were being released for now.
Tori reportedly told authorities that she had run away and didn’t realize how serious the situation had become until she saw herself mentioned in news reports as a missing person. After her arrest, she was taken to the Pulaski County jail, but officials from Garland County were expected to take over her case shortly after.
Following her return, a friend named Jessica created a GoFundMe campaign with support from Tori’s family to help her get back on her feet. The fundraiser explained that although Tori is now safe, she’s going through a tough time and needs help with basic needs like housing, healthcare, and mental health support. The goal is to help her recover and begin healing.
Tori’s brother, Jason Hamel, spoke to the media and shared his emotional reaction. He said he had heard rumors over the past year that she might have been killed, and he had nearly lost all hope. But now, he’s overwhelmed with relief that she’s alive, calling her recovery “that one percent miracle” they’d held onto.
