Trump Blames Biden for Thunderstorms, Confuses Weather with Terror Threats in Air Force One Gaffe

While flying to a NATO summit, President Donald Trump made a confusing and awkward mistake during a conversation with reporters on Air Force One. The summit is focused on increasing global tensions, and Trump was asked about possible Iranian retaliation after recent U.S. airstrikes targeted nuclear sites in Iran.
When a reporter asked whether the U.S. might face attacks on its own soil, Trump quickly blamed former President Joe Biden. In a strange slip of the tongue, he said that Biden had let “a lot of supercells” into the country. He called Biden an incompetent leader who didn’t know what he was doing. The term “supercells” typically refers to dangerous thunderstorms, not national security threats.
Trump went on to say that Biden’s actions were extremely careless and claimed that many of the so-called supercells were from Iran. He promised the U.S. would handle the situation and insisted that what Biden did to the country should never be forgotten.
In reality, Trump most likely meant to say “sleeper cells,” a term used for secret terrorist operatives hiding in a country, ready to attack when activated. Recently, there have been growing concerns that Iran might have placed such sleeper agents in the U.S. who could be preparing attacks on American people or infrastructure. Trump’s use of “supercells” instead of “sleeper cells” caused confusion and drew attention to the blunder.
Trump made these remarks as he traveled to the Netherlands for a meeting with NATO leaders in The Hague. The meeting comes at a time when international conflicts are rising and NATO member countries are questioning Trump’s commitment to the alliance, especially to Article Five. This part of the NATO treaty promises that if one member is attacked, all members will respond together.
When another reporter asked Trump if he still supported Article Five, he gave a vague answer. He said it depends on how you define it and mentioned that there are many definitions. He didn’t give a clear commitment but said he wants to be friends with NATO countries. He promised to explain more clearly when he arrives at the summit, saying he didn’t want to go into detail while still on the plane.
