Donald Trump slammed over ‘hateful’ Christmas message attacking ‘Radical Left Scum’

Donald Trump used Christmas Day to attack his political opponents, posting a long and angry message online that many people felt clashed sharply with the spirit of the holiday.

Instead of a calm or unifying greeting, the post focused heavily on insults and familiar political talking points.

Writing from his official account on X, the former president wished “Merry Christmas” while also calling his opponents “Radical Left Scum,” accusing them of trying to destroy the country and claiming they were failing badly.

The message quickly turned into a wide-ranging rant, repeating themes he often returns to in public statements.

He claimed the United States no longer has men competing in women’s sports, no longer pushes transgender issues “for everyone,” and no longer suffers from weak law enforcement.

He also insisted the economy is doing extremely well, saying the country has a record-breaking stock market, the lowest crime levels in decades, no inflation, and a strong GDP figure. He added that America is now respected again, more than ever before.

Many people online reacted with disbelief and sarcasm. Some said the post felt more angry than festive, with one commentator suggesting future historians would look back in shock that such messages came from a sitting president.

Others mocked the tone, thanking him ironically for a “Christmas message of peace and unity,” while another said it did not seem like he understood the meaning of Christmas at all.

Several users said they had to double-check that the post was real because it sounded so extreme. Others commented that they were not getting any “Merry Christmas” feeling from the message, and some criticised the contrast between the holiday’s Christian message and the aggressive language used.

The backlash comes at a time when Donald Trump is already facing criticism on other fronts. His administration continues to be questioned over its handling of the Epstein files, and he has also stirred controversy again by reviving talk about Greenland and making what critics describe as an outrageous appointment.
