People think something is ‘deeply wrong’ with Trump after hearing latest comparison between Renee Good and Alex Pretti

Donald Trump has once again drawn criticism after commenting on the deaths of two people killed by federal immigration agents, with many people saying his remarks show something is seriously off in the way he sees these tragedies.
The comments came after the deaths of 37-year-old Renee Good, a mother of three, and 37-year-old Alex Pretti, an intensive care nurse. Both were shot and killed in separate incidents involving immigration agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Good was killed on January 7, while Pretti was shot weeks later on January 24. Their deaths triggered widespread protests across the state, with many people demanding accountability and transparency.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump first spoke about the killing of Alex Pretti. Even though video footage and eyewitness accounts show that Pretti was holding a phone, not a gun, Trump suggested otherwise. He said the situation was “terrible” but then claimed Pretti had been carrying a fully loaded gun and extra magazines. Trump added that no one really knows when or how a gun was seen, before repeating that the entire situation was awful. His remarks directly contradicted what has been shown in publicly released footage and what witnesses have described.
Trump then moved on to talk about Renee Good’s death, but instead of focusing on the loss of life or the actions of the agent involved, he chose to compare the two victims and even brought their parents into the discussion. He said both cases were terrible, then added that he wasn’t sure about Pretti’s parents but claimed that Good’s parents were strong Trump supporters. He said this made him feel bad and suggested it somehow made the situation “even worse.” He went further by vaguely implying that Good herself may have been “radicalized,” before saying he hated to see what had happened.
These comments quickly sparked backlash online. Many people were disturbed not just by the inaccuracies, but by the tone and the decision to speculate about the victims and their families. California Governor Gavin Newsom was among those who reacted strongly, saying there is “something deeply wrong with this man.” Others echoed that sentiment, with one person simply responding that there are “a lot of things” wrong.
Critics also pointed to Trump’s broader history when reacting to his remarks. They mentioned his past connections to disgraced figures, his role in fueling tensions that led to the Capitol riots, and reports that he financially benefited massively from his time in office. For many, these patterns make his latest comments feel less like a one-off mistake and more like part of a bigger, troubling picture.
One commenter summed up the unease by saying that many people still don’t fully grasp how serious the situation is when it comes to Donald Trump. They warned that the coming years could take the country to a place it doesn’t want to go, expressing deep concern about what lies ahead under his leadership.
Despite all of this, Trump remains president of the United States for a second time, and reactions like these show just how sharply divided and unsettled the public continues to be whenever he speaks about life-and-death issues.
