Donald Trump’s Cruel Obsession with Fox News Host Backfires as She Hijacks His ‘Low Blow’ Insults to Flip His Ultimate Power Move in a Way He Can’t Stand

Donald Trump is known for how he speaks to female journalists. When they ask tough questions—something that happens often he tends to insult or belittle them during press conferences and events.
In the past 14 months of his second term, he has called a Bloomberg reporter “piggy,” and described other women reporters as “stupid,” “ugly,” and “rotten.”
Earlier this year, he also attacked a CNN journalist, calling her “the worst reporter” and criticizing her for not smiling at him, along with other insults aimed at women he doesn’t like.
More recently, Jessica Tarlov, one of the hosts on Fox News’ show “The Five,” seems to be getting on his nerves. Trump appears frustrated that the network still gives her a platform, since she often shares more moderate or opposing views compared to the other conservative hosts.
While flying to a campaign event in Las Vegas on April 17, Trump posted an angry message on his Truth Social platform, targeting Tarlov again. He said he was watching her on TV and called her one of the least attractive and least talented people on television. He complained about her voice and said he had to turn her off.
He also accused her of spreading fake political talking points and making up poll numbers, claiming no one challenges her because she is boring. At the same time, he insisted that his own poll numbers are the best they have ever been, even though that claim is not supported by broader data.
Polls reported by major outlets show mixed results, with some indicating strong support among Republicans but much lower approval from the general public, especially due to issues like the war in Iran and rising living costs.
Trump continued his rant by demanding that Tarlov be taken off the air, saying she is bad for the country. His reaction was reportedly triggered by her segment discussing his low approval ratings on issues like the cost of living and taxes.
Tarlov responded calmly but firmly. She said her numbers were not fake and pointed out that Trump is indeed unpopular. She also used the moment to promote her new book.
The exchange quickly spread on social media, where many people reacted strongly. Some criticized Trump’s comments, while others supported Tarlov and even encouraged people to buy her book.
In the same post, Trump also criticized former allies in conservative media, including Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and Candace Owens. He claimed their popularity is dropping and said people no longer trust them.
These figures had recently disagreed with him over the war in Iran, especially because it went against his earlier promise to keep the U.S. out of foreign conflicts.
Trump has had a long and close relationship with Fox News, which has often given him positive coverage over the years. Many hosts on the network, like Sean Hannity and the “Fox & Friends” team, are known for strongly supporting him.
