25th Amendment now!’ Fury as Donald Trump posts fake before-and-after photos to attack Obama

President Donald Trump stirred up a storm online after sharing what many believe is an AI-generated image on Truth Social early Saturday morning. The post tried to show a clear contrast between how the Reflecting Pool looked during former President Barack Obama’s time in office and how it supposedly looks now under Trump. The image was presented side by side, with one labeled “Hussein Obama” and the other “Trump,” suggesting a dramatic improvement.

At first glance, the post seemed to gain traction quickly, pulling in tens of thousands of likes and shares within a short time. Supporters appeared to engage with it, but it didn’t take long before people started looking more closely—and that’s when things began to fall apart.

Users from all sides of the political divide quickly noticed something that didn’t add up. Both images had identical clouds in the sky. It was an unusual detail that raised immediate suspicion, because two photos taken at completely different times should not have the exact same cloud formation. That small detail became the biggest giveaway, leading many to believe the image had been edited or artificially created.

What made the reaction even more striking was that criticism didn’t just come from Trump’s opponents. Some of his own supporters and right-leaning commentators pointed it out as well. Owen Shroyer, who is known to support Trump, openly called attention to the clouds, saying it was another example of questionable content being posted. Others echoed the same concern, with journalists and everyday users alike expressing disbelief at how obvious the duplication looked.

Some people tried to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, saying they believed he was genuinely trying to highlight improvements in Washington. But even they admitted the image itself didn’t hold up under scrutiny. One user explained that it looked like the same photo had simply been altered—one version edited to make the water appear dirty, and the other to make it look clean—rather than showing two real, separate moments in time.

The situation quickly escalated beyond just criticism of the image. Some accounts used the moment to question Trump’s credibility more broadly, while others took it further by calling for serious political consequences. The conversation shifted from a simple image comparison to a wider debate about trust, truth, and the use of manipulated visuals in political messaging.

Adding more fuel to the controversy, the post came out on the same day new reports revealed details about spending during Trump’s administration. According to documents published by the New York Times, the government spent $17.4 million on fountain repairs at Lafayette Park, which sits across from the White House. That figure was significantly higher than earlier estimates from the Biden administration, making the timing of Trump’s post even more controversial in the eyes of critics.
