Dan Rather Spots Serious Trouble Donald Trump May Not Be Able to Avoid Much Longer as He Raises Concerns Over His Relationship With Putin

Veteran American journalist Dan Rather has raised serious concerns about President Donald Trump’s growing relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He believes Trump may soon face difficult questions about his actions towards Russia, especially as some of his recent decisions appear to benefit the Russian government.
Over the past week, Trump has reportedly made several decisions that critics believe could help Putin and strengthen Russia’s position. These developments have raised concerns about the direction of American foreign policy and what they could mean for Ukraine.
One of the reported decisions involves the United States agreeing to purchase diesel fuel from Russia. However, analysts believe the move is unlikely to make much difference to fuel prices in America ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
Another concern involves Ukraine’s military technology. Reports suggest that the Trump administration has ordered a slowdown affecting Ukraine’s Starshield systems, which are used to help detect incoming Russian ballistic missile attacks.
The technology is similar to Elon Musk’s Starlink system and plays an important role in helping Ukrainian forces identify threats. Any reduction in its effectiveness could raise concerns about Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russian attacks.
Trump has also reportedly taken steps to remove sanctions against Russia shortly before they were expected to come into effect. Sanctions are restrictions used by governments to put economic and political pressure on other countries.
These reported developments have attracted criticism from people who believe the United States should continue putting pressure on Russia rather than making decisions that could benefit Putin.
Dan Rather discussed the situation in a recent essay published on his Substack platform. He suggested that Trump’s actions could eventually lead to a much more serious debate about whether the president is acting against America’s national interests.
Rather pointed to Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution, which explains what legally counts as treason. The Constitution refers to acts of war against the United States or giving aid and comfort to its enemies.
According to Rather, removing sanctions against Russia could be viewed by critics as helping a country considered hostile to American interests.
However, the legal definition of treason is very narrow, and making decisions that benefit a foreign government does not automatically amount to treason under American law.
Rather acknowledged that most Americans would consider accusing a sitting president of treason an extremely serious step. He also recognised that many people would be uncomfortable even discussing such an accusation.
Nevertheless, he believes the subject could become increasingly difficult to ignore if Trump continues making decisions that appear to bring him closer to Putin.
The veteran journalist warned that although most Americans may not currently support such accusations, the conversation could begin to change if concerns about Trump’s relationship with Russia continue to grow.
His comments have added to the wider political debate about Trump’s foreign policy, America’s relationship with Russia and the future of American support for Ukraine.
For now, Rather has not established that Trump committed treason. Instead, he has raised questions about whether the president’s decisions could eventually lead to a serious public debate about his loyalty to American interests and the consequences of his relationship with Vladimir Putin.
