Donald Trump panics as Dems mobilize behind new plan: ‘They do this and the GOP is dead!’

President Donald Trump has reacted strongly after learning about a proposal from a group of Democratic lawmakers that could make major changes to the US political system and the Supreme Court. In a passionate post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump warned that if the plan ever became reality, it could seriously damage the future of the Republican Party.

His comments came after reports revealed that several progressive Democratic members of the House of Representatives had drafted a resolution calling for sweeping reforms to the Supreme Court. The proposal includes introducing term limits for Supreme Court justices, adding more justices to the court, and creating a stricter code of ethics to govern the conduct of the nation’s highest judges.

The proposal also calls for ending the filibuster in the Senate. The filibuster is a long-standing Senate rule that usually requires at least 60 votes before most major legislation can move forward. Many Democrats argue that removing the rule would make it easier to pass important laws, while many Republicans believe it protects minority voices and prevents one party from pushing through major changes too easily.

Reacting to the report, Trump shared a link to the article and warned that such changes would have serious political consequences. He wrote, “They do this, and the Republican Party is DEAD!” making it clear that he believes the proposed reforms would permanently shift the balance of power in Washington.

The Democratic proposal was written following a recent Supreme Court decision that weakened Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. This section of the law was designed to protect voters from racial discrimination in voting and redistricting. The court’s ruling means that states now have greater freedom when drawing congressional district boundaries, a decision that many Democrats fear could benefit Republican-controlled states and make it harder to challenge voting maps they believe are unfair.

Supporters of the proposal argue that the Supreme Court has become too politically powerful and that reforms are needed to restore public trust. Critics, however, say expanding the court or removing the filibuster could further divide the country and allow whichever party is in power to make lasting political changes without enough bipartisan support.

Trump had already raised concerns about the issue a few days earlier. In another Truth Social post on Friday, he urged Republicans to eliminate the filibuster before Democrats have the chance to do it themselves if they regain full control of Congress.

He warned that Democrats would abolish the rule immediately if they had the opportunity. Trump dramatically wrote that they would “TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER in their first hour,” adding that he would be sitting at home “with tears in my eyes” saying, “I TOLD YOU SO!” His comments reflect his belief that Republicans should act first rather than wait for Democrats to make the move.

The debate over the future of the Supreme Court and the filibuster remains one of the most controversial issues in American politics. While no changes have been approved, the proposal has already sparked strong reactions from leaders on both sides, with supporters calling it necessary reform and opponents warning it could permanently reshape the country’s political system.
