‘It Matters More Than You Think’: Piers Morgan Hits Back at James Carville For Dismissing Trans Athletes Issue

During a heated discussion on *Piers Morgan Uncensored*, Democratic strategist James Carville downplayed concerns about transgender athletes competing in women’s sports, calling it a non-issue for Democrats.

However, Piers Morgan pushed back, arguing that the debate over transgender athletes played a significant role in the Democratic Party’s loss in the 2024 presidential election.

Carville dismissed the topic, suggesting that issues like the cost of living and access to healthcare should take precedence. He said, “If you’re concerned about the state track meet, please do something about it. We have an athletic association, they can do it. But if you’re more concerned with that or more concerned about bathroom stalls, then hang out in bathrooms. This is not of a concern to me.”

Morgan disagreed, asserting that the debate over transgender athletes and broader “woke” issues had a greater impact on voters than many Democrats realized. He argued that former President Donald Trump’s positioning as the voice of “common sense” resonated with voters, especially when contrasted with the Democratic leadership’s stance on issues like biological men competing in women’s sports.

Morgan claimed that while the economy and immigration were the top two concerns for voters, the so-called “woke mind virus” was a significant third factor.

Carville acknowledged that Republicans have effectively used social issues like transgender athletes to their advantage and criticized the Democratic Party for adopting what he called “faculty lounge goofy academic language.

He admitted that Democrats need to distance themselves from the far-left wing of the party and focus on more pressing concerns for everyday Americans. However, he maintained that the issue of transgender athletes was not a priority for him, saying, “Honestly, I don’t think about it that much.”

The exchange highlighted the ongoing tension within the Democratic Party over how to address social issues like transgender rights while appealing to a broader electorate. While Carville emphasized economic and healthcare concerns as the top priorities, Morgan argued that cultural issues, including the debate over transgender athletes, have a significant impact on voter behavior and cannot be ignored.
