Watch How Rupert Lowe STUNS Parliament by Confronting Muslim MP Over ‘Brutal’ Halal Slaughter — “What He Said Shocked Everyone!”

Rupert Lowe caused a strong reaction in Parliament when he spoke openly about the way animals are being killed for halal meat in the UK. He said what’s happening in many slaughterhouses across the country would upset any decent person, but most people don’t even know it’s happening. According to him, supermarkets, restaurants, and schools are serving halal meat without telling anyone, and the public is being kept in the dark. He believes the reason this continues is because politicians are too scared to talk about it, afraid of offending certain religious groups. But Lowe said he doesn’t care about political fear—he cares about the pain animals are going through.

He explained that millions of people in the UK are eating halal meat without knowing it. He called the current food labeling system “deceitful” because it doesn’t tell people if the meat came from an animal that was killed in a way that many would find cruel. In 2024 alone, more than 214 million animals were slaughtered for halal meat in the UK. Around 27 million of those animals were not stunned before being killed. The rest were stunned using a method that he said doesn’t truly stop pain—it only causes what looks like a seizure.

When a Muslim MP interrupted him to point out that 88% of halal meat is technically pre-stunned, Lowe didn’t back down. He explained that the stun used in halal slaughter is much weaker than the standard method. He gave an example, saying chickens are dipped in electric water baths, but the voltage used in halal procedures is often too low to actually make the animal unconscious. He said this means the animal still feels fear and pain during the killing process. In his words, “It’s not the stun itself that matters, it’s how effective it is.”

He said that the British public would be shocked if they knew the full truth—not just about halal slaughter but about how it’s being hidden from them. He said people think they’re buying regular meat, but they’re not told how the animal was killed. He called this unfair and said it’s wrong to let this continue in a country that claims to care about animal welfare.

Lowe asked for a complete ban on non-stun slaughter, and also said that the weak stunning used in halal practices should not be allowed either. He said these watered-down versions of humane killing actually make things worse because they give the impression the animal won’t suffer, when in reality, it still does.

He ended his speech by saying this is not just a religious or cultural issue—it’s a national concern that affects millions of animals and millions of people. He urged other politicians to stop being afraid, to stand up for animals, and to give people honest information about the food they eat. In his words, “This is about pain, suffering, and truth. And the British public deserves to know both.”
