Campaign to embarrass Donald Trump on his trip to UK quickly gains support and raises thousands

Donald Trump is expected to visit the UK later this week, with another official state visit planned for September. His upcoming trip has sparked a strong reaction from people who don’t support him, and a campaign to embarrass him during his visit has quickly gained attention and financial backing. The campaign has already raised over \$13,000.
Trump is scheduled to go to Scotland on Friday, July 25. This country holds personal meaning for him, as his mother was originally from there.
According to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, Trump plans to visit Turnberry and Aberdeen, and also meet with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. They are expected to discuss and improve the trade agreement between the US and UK.
However, many people in the UK aren’t happy about Trump’s visit. A group of campaigners wants to publicly shame him by spreading images of him across the country. One of the images already placed shows Trump with Jeffrey Epstein at a bus stop near the US embassy in London. This happened after the Trump administration released some files related to Epstein.
The group behind this campaign, called “Everyone Hates Elon,” claimed responsibility for the image. They say they reached their first goal of £10,000 in under a day and now aim to raise even more. They want to make sure that wherever Trump goes in the UK, people see these images and are reminded of his connection to Epstein. The group also believes that these revelations are causing problems for Trump’s supporters and could weaken the political movement behind him.
Ed Davey, leader of the UK’s Liberal Democrat party, has openly criticized Trump’s visit. He said Trump has caused problems for the British economy by constantly changing his approach to trade tariffs. According to Davey, Trump’s inconsistent policies have hurt British workers, especially those in the steel industry. Still, he added that Trump might do less harm playing golf than when he’s actually in office making decisions.
Trump is expected to return to the UK again in September, when he will meet with King Charles as part of an official state visit.
The White House has not yet responded to questions about the visit.
