This is America!’ Sickened Morning Joe shames Stephen Miller with heartbreaking photo

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough were discussing a New York Times story on MS NOW about a disturbing situation: small children being left behind when their parents are taken away and deported by ICE.

To show how serious it is, Scarborough held up the newspaper with a picture of a two-year-old boy named Jorge. His mother was detained and deported by mistake, leaving him behind with no parent.

Scarborough said that Donald Trump’s falling approval ratings are tied to actions like these. He argued that Stephen Miller, one of Trump’s closest advisors, is helping drive the president’s numbers down even among Republicans  because these harsh immigration crackdowns are upsetting so many communities.

He pointed out that there are real children being left alone because the administration is so focused on hitting deportation targets. He stressed that Miller supports these tactics, and Trump allows them to continue, even though the goals they’re chasing are impossible to meet.

After tossing the newspaper aside, Scarborough said, “This is America in 2025,” expressing disbelief at the situation.

Jonathan Lemire added that images like the one in the Times are a major reason Trump’s immigration numbers look so bad. He said immigration was supposed to be one of Trump’s strongest issues, but many Americans now feel these policies go too far. Only the most loyal part of Trump’s base seems to support such extreme actions, and even they know the massive deportation numbers the administration talks about will never actually happen. Lemire pointed out that voters have repeatedly shown they want the southern border handled responsibly — not through chaos or cruelty.
