Donald Trump Called a ‘Pig’ by Family Member After He Attacks Female Reporter Questioning Him on Epstein Emails

Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, has once again spoken out strongly against him after he insulted a female reporter who questioned him about the Epstein emails. The clash happened during an interview, and it quickly spread online, adding more fuel to the already intense controversy around the Epstein files.
For months, many people have accused the Trump administration of trying to hide the full truth about the Epstein documents. Critics have said the White House is avoiding transparency and dodging responsibility. At one point, Attorney General Pam Bondi was heavily criticised after she said the Epstein files were on her desk for review. Later, the administration announced that the files would not be released, which made people even more suspicious.
The Epstein files are believed to include sensitive information, including the names of powerful and well-known people who may have been involved in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network. Epstein, who was convicted of sex crimes, died in prison in 2019 under mysterious circumstances, which has only increased public curiosity and distrust. Many people think these documents could expose a lot of uncomfortable secrets.
According to The Daily Beast, Mary Trump reacted angrily after seeing how her uncle spoke to the reporter. Mary has long been one of Donald Trump’s loudest critics. She often talks about his behavior and politics on her YouTube channel and social media, and she hasn’t hesitated to question his character.
In this latest incident, a clip showed Trump aboard Air Force One talking to Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey, who was off-camera. Lucey tried to ask him a direct and reasonable question about the Epstein files. She began, “If there’s nothing incriminating in the files, sir, why not—” before she could finish, Trump cut her off sharply. He raised his voice, shouted, “Quiet! Quiet, piggy!” and waved his finger dismissively. The moment was caught on video and widely shared.
Mary Trump said the insult was disgusting but not surprising. In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter), she said that Donald Trump is, in her words, a “lifelong, hardcore misogynist” who does not like it when women challenge him or ask him tough questions. She pointed out that this wasn’t some rare outburst; to her, it fits a pattern of how he has talked about and treated women for many years.
She went even further in her criticism. Mary said she would call him the only “pig” in the situation, but then added that real pigs are actually intelligent and affectionate animals. She said Donald Trump, by comparison, is “a vile, corrupt criminal” who, unlike pigs, has nothing valuable to offer the world. Her words were harsh, but they reflected how angry and fed up she is with his behavior.
This is not the first time Trump has been accused of using the word “piggy” or similar insults to attack a woman. During the 2016 presidential campaign, former Miss Universe Alicia Machado said Trump repeatedly mocked her appearance and once greeted her by saying, “Hello, Miss Piggy.” That memory has often been brought back into the spotlight whenever new incidents like this one happen. Over the years, there have also been several moments where Trump has snapped at reporters—especially women—and accused them of being rude, dishonest, or stupid when they question him or present facts he doesn’t like.
Mary Trump has made a kind of second career out of explaining and criticising her uncle’s personality and mental state. She has often warned that he is psychologically unfit for leadership. She has also claimed that his recent mistakes during speeches, his slurred words at times, and his visible difficulty while walking are signs that he may be declining both mentally and physically. In her view, his angry reaction to the reporter fits with someone who is under pressure and losing control.
However, not everyone believes her. Earlier in the year, Donald Trump went through a full medical checkup on April 2025 at Walter Reed Medical Center. His doctor, Capt. Sean Barbabella, later said that Trump was in excellent health. He reportedly had another checkup the following month, and again, he was declared fit for his age. These official health reports have been used by Trump’s supporters to argue that Mary Trump is exaggerating or lying about his condition.
Some of his loyal supporters have called Mary Trump “delusional” and “crazy,” claiming she has personal grudges and is using her family connection to stay relevant and attack him whenever possible. They say she twists everything he does into something negative and that she cannot be trusted as an objective source.
Meanwhile, the White House has not issued any clear statement addressing Trump’s “piggy” comment toward the female reporter. There has been no apology or detailed explanation. This silence has upset many people who think that, as president, he should be held to a higher standard, especially when speaking to journalists who are simply doing their jobs. To them, this kind of language is disrespectful, sexist, and unprofessional, and they feel it sends a message that women who ask tough questions can be publicly humiliated without consequence.
For others, this incident is just another example of a pattern they’ve seen for years: Trump lashing out at women, especially those who challenge him, and his allies either staying quiet or defending him. For Mary Trump, it was one more moment that proved her point about his character. For his supporters, it was either overblown, taken out of context, or simply “Trump being Trump.”
