Kamala Harris Drops Bombshell on Possible 2028 Comeback Run

Kamala Harris has now made it clearer than ever that she is seriously thinking about running for president again in the future.

While speaking at a civil rights convention, she was asked directly about what she plans to do next by TV host Al Sharpton. Instead of avoiding the question or giving a vague answer, she openly admitted that running again is something she is considering.

She said “I might” and explained that she has been thinking about it, which shows she hasn’t made a final decision yet but is clearly weighing it carefully. She also spent time talking about her experience as vice president, making the point that she understands the job of president in a very real and practical way.

She described how close she was to the center of power during her time in office, working in the West Wing and spending a lot of time inside the Oval Office and the Situation Room. These are places where the most serious decisions in the country are made, especially during crises.

Because of that, she believes she knows exactly what the role demands, not just in theory but from actually being there and seeing how decisions are handled behind the scenes. She suggested that this kind of experience sets her apart, because she has already been deeply involved in the kind of work a president has to do every day.

She also talked about what she has been doing since leaving office. Over the past year, she has been travelling across the country, meeting different communities and listening to people’s concerns.

From those conversations, she says one message has stood out clearly: many people feel the current system is not working for them. She said this isn’t a new problem either, but something that has been building for a long time, with people feeling left behind or frustrated with how things are going.

That feeling seems to be shaping her thinking about whether to run again. It suggests she believes there is still a lot that needs to change, and that she could play a role in that if she decides to enter the race.

Her comments are important because they are the strongest sign so far that she may try to become the Democratic candidate in the 2028 presidential election.

She previously ran in 2024, but that campaign was unusual. She stepped in late to replace Joe Biden on the ticket, which meant she had less time to build momentum compared to a normal campaign. In the end, she lost the election to Donald Trump.

Even with that loss, she remains a major figure in the Democratic Party. Early polling suggests she is still one of the most popular possible candidates among Democrats. In fact, she is currently ahead of other well-known names, including Gavin Newsom, by a noticeable margin in many national polls. That shows she still has strong support within her party, even after a tough election.

She had already hinted before that she might not be done with politics. In an earlier interview, she said that public service is a big part of who she is and something that drives her. That idea comes through again in her latest comments, where she talks about her experience and the issues she sees in the country.
