Ilhan Omar Hits “Idiot” Donald Trump Back With 3-Sentence Burn To Correspondents’ Dinner Ramble

A heated political row broke out after President Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar during the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday night.

While speaking at the event, Trump criticised several Democratic politicians before turning his attention to Omar. He mocked her over a speaking mistake she made in 2025 and described her as a “low-IQ person.” He then said she should “get the hell out of our country” and claimed she should not be living in the United States.

Trump was referring to a moment during a 2025 news conference when Omar accidentally said “World War Eleven” instead of “World War Two” while reading from prepared remarks. The mistake quickly spread across social media, especially among conservative commentators. However, many of the videos shared online did not include the moment where Omar immediately realised her mistake and corrected herself.

The president also repeated a long-running claim from some right-wing commentators that Omar married her own brother to help her enter the United States from Somalia. He joked that the two were “very much in love” and referred to her brother as “husband number one.”

Omar has repeatedly denied those claims over the years, calling them completely false and without any evidence. She has said the allegations are nothing more than conspiracy theories that have been used to attack her.

Not long after Trump’s remarks, Omar responded on social media with a strongly worded message. She accused the president of making personal attacks instead of presenting evidence and questioned his intelligence.

She wrote that if Trump truly had evidence against her, he should present it rather than make public insults. She added that his behaviour showed how “low IQ” he was. Omar also argued that Trump was the one damaging the United States, saying he was making the country “the laughing stock of the world” because of his actions.

This is not the first time Trump has publicly criticised Omar. Earlier this year, he posted on Truth Social saying she should either be jailed or sent back to Somalia. He claimed Somalia was one of the worst countries in the world and suggested she could help “Make Somalia Great Again.”

In another social media post made in December, Trump called Omar “an ungrateful loser” and accused her of always complaining instead of contributing to the country. He also repeated calls for her to be sent back to Somalia.

Omar has dismissed those comments before, saying Trump’s repeated focus on her is “beyond weird.” She argued that instead of talking about policies that would improve the economy or help Americans, he spends his time repeating what she described as hateful and false claims about her.

The latest exchange is another example of the long-running public feud between Trump and Omar, which has continued for years through campaign rallies, speeches and social media posts. Both figures remain outspoken critics of one another, and their latest clash has once again sparked intense political debate across the United States.
