Katie Price Finally Reveals Why She Moved Her Son Harvey Into a Residential Care Home After What He Did Inside Her House

Katie Price has revealed that her eldest son, Harvey Price, has moved into a temporary residential care home after a difficult period at home. The 48-year-old television personality explained that Harvey had been damaging parts of her house, including several kitchen cabinets, leaving her struggling to manage the situation.

The mother of five said she is now feeling more relaxed and finally has some time to herself after arranging temporary accommodation for her son. However, she made it clear that Harvey is happy in his new surroundings and is receiving the support he needs.

Harvey has several serious health conditions, including Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that can cause an unusually strong appetite, difficulties with learning and behaviour, and other physical health problems. He is also autistic and partially blind, meaning he requires additional care and support in his daily life.

Speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, Katie opened up about the challenges she had been facing while Harvey was living at home.

She explained that his behaviour had become increasingly difficult to manage, particularly after he damaged three kitchen cabinets and other parts of the property.

Katie said she had reached a point where she felt something needed to change, especially as the family had already been waiting around 18 months for a permanent residential placement for Harvey.

Rather than continue waiting with him at home, she decided to arrange temporary accommodation nearby, where he could receive professional care while preparing for his next move.

According to Katie, Harvey has settled into the temporary facility and appears to be enjoying his new environment.

She revealed that he has his own small flat and carers who are helping him become familiar with the routines he will eventually follow when he moves into his permanent accommodation in Littlehampton.

Katie also shared a happy moment from a recent video call with her son. She explained that Harvey had contacted her while enjoying himself in a swimming pool and was excitedly showing her the bubbles.

She said she had already organised his weekly food shopping and made sure everything was ready for him to feel comfortable in his temporary home.

Although the move followed a stressful period, Katie appeared pleased that Harvey was enjoying himself and becoming more independent with the help of his carers.

She expressed hope that he would continue to settle in and enjoy his permanent residential home once it becomes available.

The television star has also been speaking openly about another major concern involving Harvey’s health, particularly his weight.

Katie recently revealed that her son had started taking Mounjaro, a medication used to help manage weight and blood sugar levels, after concerns were raised about the possible effects of his obesity.

During a conversation with her sister Sophie, Katie said Harvey had already lost two stone and that she could see a noticeable difference in his stomach.

She appeared encouraged by the progress and suggested that the treatment was beginning to make a difference.

However, Katie has previously explained that managing Harvey’s weight has been extremely difficult because of his medical conditions and the medication he already takes.

Speaking on Andrew Gold’s Heretics podcast, she revealed that Harvey had weighed just under 30 stone and that doctors had warned about the serious risks associated with his weight.

Katie said her biggest concern was not his eyesight but the possibility that he could suffer a heart attack.

She explained that Harvey had become increasingly reluctant to walk, often becoming breathless and sweating heavily after physical activity.

According to Katie, medical professionals had warned that he was at high risk of developing serious heart problems.

She also revealed that she had explored private treatment options to help him lose weight, but his complicated medical history meant that different healthcare professionals needed to approve the treatment before it could begin.

Katie said it was heartbreaking to watch her son struggle with everyday activities because of his size.

She explained that even simple tasks, such as getting in and out of the bath, had become physically difficult for him.

As his mother, she said watching him experience these challenges was particularly upsetting because she wanted him to remain healthy and enjoy a better quality of life.

Despite the difficulties, Katie has continued to speak proudly about Harvey and the progress he has made over the years.

His move into temporary residential care represents another important change in his life, particularly as he prepares to move into a more permanent setting where trained carers can support his needs.

For Katie, the arrangement also means she can have some time to relax while knowing that her son is being looked after.

She hopes the new environment will help Harvey develop a comfortable routine, enjoy more activities and receive the specialist attention he requires.

With his permanent accommodation expected to become available soon, Katie is hoping the next stage of Harvey’s life will bring greater stability for both of them.
