Donald Trump comes out with ‘word salad’ after he’s confronted over something he originally ‘took credit for’

President Donald Trump is facing criticism for giving a confusing and unclear response when asked about taking credit for the economy earlier, but now blaming Joe Biden as it starts to decline.

His first 100 days back in office have been full of controversy. After his re-election, global tensions have risen, especially with fears about conflict with Russia.

His aggressive tariffs have upset other countries, especially China, which has pushed back against his trade policies. He’s also faced backlash over the harsh treatment of undocumented immigrants, with some reportedly sent to dangerous prisons based only on suspicions of gang ties.

While the economy initially saw a small improvement under Trump, it’s now taken a downturn, and prices like those for eggs—remain very high. Trump has brushed off concerns about inflation and supply shortages, even joking that kids might just need fewer toys.

During a press event, journalist Andrew Feinberg called Trump out, pointing out that he had proudly taken credit for the economy when it was doing well, but now blames Biden for its troubles. Trump didn’t directly answer and instead talked about unrelated issues like mental health institutions and crime, leaving many confused.

One person who shared the video online called his response a “word salad”—a jumble of random, hard-to-follow phrases often used to avoid giving a real answer.

Critics say this kind of response only adds to the uncertainty about where Trump’s leadership is heading, especially with the long-term effects of his tariff policies still unknown.
